It is April 19 2007 and this is the beginning of our planning to return to Italy for our second wedding anniversary. We married in Cortona, Italy on 4 october 2005. People look at us strangly when we say that we got married in Italy and than ask are we italian? No, is our reply we just wanted something different, romantic, private, with a honeymoon.
My intention was to write a blog on the wedding and first trip to italy but alas time flew by and it never got written.
I had been to Italy once before the wedding trip and fell in love with it. My now husband Jim had never been there before and did not particularly like travelling. Despite this we decided to go for and elopement wedding overseas with just the two of us. We quickly discarded places like Fiji and Thailand as they were to popular as wedding destination. Becuase of my fondness for Italy it became the top contender for location.
Thus began 12 months of internet searching, debating and communication to organise all aspects of the wedding.
